Sean Penn recently showed up at the Los Angeles premiere of Gangster Squad looking like this. Like he had fallen asleep in a tanning bed for a few weeks. Despite Emma Stone's porcelain skin emphasizing the bright orange light emanating from Penn's face, it still looks just as bad in images of Penn alone.

ReplyOh dear, are they serious? Are frank v and M colour blind? Next time they see people laughing at them they should check their own colour.
Replymy darling Kelly Rowland does not need this junk !
Replythere is nothing healthy about a tan, and nothing is healty about a spay tan. Slip, slop, slap, wear a hat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyI personally would not use a spray tan, but I think all the people shown look really great. I am not trapped by the belief that if one does not look like a Vogue cover person, then something has gone wrong. The people shown have used creatively used tanning to make a statement....a statement about body image, a statement of contrasts, a statement of the dynamic nature of change etc.......it is sad that portions of the media denigrate their creativity in an era where obsession with looks is the cause opf unnecessary suffering. I am hoping that Yahoo's interpretation of the fashion statements made by these celebrities will not be used as a lever for self loathing for vulnerable people.
