flawless base is no 1 and the most important step. You need to use liquid foundation (it is a little harder with a mineral powder though if your skin is in good condition you can achieve it) work with your skin tone! Use a stippling brush, this will give you the best finish!

Match to your skin from the cheek bones down or fork out just a little and have this done for you. You want to look nude though covered and glowing... Its a fact and what we all want.

OK if your sticking with what your using and its a matt blend i would say unless you have extremely oily skin you really don't need it. ... So with a matt base you want to use a quality primer as you know i use Arbonne as it has a blend of everything you need.
You then need to get your hands on a cream glow or highlighter and it is the right amount of sheer to be subtle and then add in sections you need. You can also find inglot etc have a range of highlights depending on the level of shimmer. If you want to be super saver savvy and chick use your lipbalm or hand creme. I use Paw Paw (in the red containers) quite often so after i have applied to my hands i the palm of my hands just below my fingers and dab this area of my hands to your cheek bones

I would recommend a light glow to mix with your base then you can choose a gold tone for example around your cheek bones, temples etc. Mix your foundation (primer and glow) with your foundation or stippling brush, wipe off the excess so you don't get streaky lines! Then "dab" your brush with the highlighter on your cheek bones, temples, lightly in the middle of your forehead and your chin.

Be sure to dab your brush so you don't remove your foundation. Done Some foundation's feel quite oily and can move though can work too for a dewy, illuminating complexion. Choose a very light translucent powder (same light texture as a quality mineral that wont leave a build up of powder. Apply on the hair line, directly under the cheek bones and blend downwards then dust lightly over and under the eyes. If you need to apply a highlighter you can do so though you need to decide if needed once these steps are finished.
