Slater couldn’t have asked for a better start in his quest for an 11th world title, winning the opening event of the year on the Gold Coast. With the second stop of the Tour, the Rip Curl Pro Bells Beach, fast approaching one would think Slater’s sole focus would be surfing.

That didn’t seem to be the case last week. A source close to hand said they saw the American mingling with Home and Away’s newest cast members the ‘River Boys’, who many have likened to the Maroubra based surf gang, the Bra Boys.

Slater was seen surfing at Palm Beach with the ‘River Boys’ while the cameras were rolling. Alf was seen lingering in the background.

Details of when we can see Slater in the Australian drama remain unknown.

Slater is no stranger to the big screen. Between 1992 and 1993 he played a cool surfer named Jimmy Slade in 4 episodes of Baywatch, alongside ex-girlfriend Pamela Anderson.

We can confirm Slater won't be appearing in Home and Away tonight nor will he in the future....Happy April Fools!
