Team Roxy rocked the Maldives!! What an epic location to shoot the latest and greatest Roxy Product. Our team of 6 girls; South African Rosy Hodge, Hawaiians Kelia Moniz and Monyca Byrne-Wickey, Brazilian Bruna Schmitz and Californian Kassia Meador plus roxy prep team and photographers cruised the Maldivian atolls in style aboard a triple-decker boat.

We had an absolute blast surfing up and down the island chain. On one of the days I absolutely cooked myself, I was so sunburn after surfing all day. The waves were too fun and with amazingly warm water and sun beaming it is just too hard to resist. I paid the price with lobster red legs at the end of the day, but it was worth it. The backdrops in the Maldives are crazy, half the time it looks like a green screen behind you, the perfect tropical coloured water, sunrises/sunsets and palm tree islands. It's pretty dreamboat looking.

We braved a couple of solid storms that hit us on a couple of evenings but they were a welcome change of temperature. You would watch the horizon turn black and then completely engulf our boat making it hard to remember the beautiful hours that had just past. A few rocky nights at sea had all the crew looking for a deserted island to get their sea legs back.

It was a delight for our taste buds this trip. We had a Maldivian chef on the boat that went more traditional and steered away from western style food. For breakfast I discovered a new combo of a thin pancake looking omelet with a specialty of his that was a mixture of mashed coconut and tuna with onions and spices mixed through it… yum. But wait there’s more, then top that with sliced banana. Sounds gross I know but it tasted amazing haha! I tried so many different varieties of fish cooked in every way possible and was introduced to some insane curries. My taste buds were taken on a cultural experience.

After a full week in paradise with our great crew; sharing waves, deserted islands, tuna/coconut surprise, picturesque moments, jumping off the roof and awesome moments and a whole lot of laughs, it was time to pack up and set my sights on France. Next stop on the World Tour schedule the Roxy Pro Biarritz. So excited woo :)
