Historic Night Surfing at "Ours"

Surfing the notoriously dangerous "Ours" break (Sydney) in daylight is pretty extreme in itself. But after 3 years of planning Mark Mathews and Richie Vas took the globally feared surf location to the next level, surfing 10-12 foot open barrels throughout the night under flood flights.

This video is a teaser of an excerpt from the upcoming film "Fighting Fear" starring big wave surfers Mark Mathews & Richie Vas.

"Fighting Fear" follows the lives of these 2 best friends through their ups and downs in pursuit of their dreams and the story of their friendship.

Only a couple of year ago "Ours" was thought to be unsurfable with its shark infested waters and open barrels that crash right up against the cliff surface. Situated at the opening of Botany Bay, "Ours" was put on the map by local surfers The Bra Boys and was featured in the movie "Bra Boys".

Doesn't show much....and with so many flood lights, it was brighter than day, so what was the point? Very disappointing.
