There may be 30cm of fresh snow to carve up, but if your toes are frozen, you’ll be miserable all day long. Invest in a good pair of socks from a specialised ski/snowboard shop that can handle the coldest of conditions. Thicker isn’t always better, as your toes need room to wriggle and keep the blood flowing. Wearing two pairs at the same time won’t do the trick either – you could end up with the socks bunching and cutting off your circulation. The $30 you’ll spend on a good pair could be the best investment you’ll make all trip.
