With Slopestyle skiing and snowboarding now an official Winter Olympic sport, it was no surprise the Perisher PlayStation Night Slopestyle Series drew massive crowds. The best professional and emerging male and female skiers and snowboarders all converged on the resort to give the first of a three-part series a crack in the hope of winning a share of $40,000 in cash and prizes.

Boen Ferguson wins the male open ski


Set under the lights of Perisher’s Front Valley, difficulty, execution and overall combined points were taken into consideration by the judging panel.

Jindabyne local, Boen Ferguson took out the Male Open Ski, while Jye Kearney took out the number one spot in the Male Open Board.

The girls gave each other a run for their money before Annabell Blake beat Meta Lavric in the Female Open Ski and Wiki Jones dashed Aubriana Dunn’s hopes of first place in the Female Open Board.

The talent in the Grommet divisions was outstanding with Kasha Wojcik (Female Grommet Ski), Tom Waddell (Male Grommet Ski), Biba Turnbull (Female Grommet Board) and Billy Haymen (Male Grommet Board) all winning first place in their respective categories.

The second stage of the Night Slopestyle Series, a state of origin grudge match between Victorian and New South Wales ski resorts, will be held on Saturday, 20th August before the overall winner is announced in the grand final on Saturday, 17th September.
