Race 1 is on 24 June at Studley Park, Kew, Melbourne. Distances: 5km / 10.8km.
Race # 1 at Studley Park brings trail running as close to the centre of Melbourne as possible while still providing an enriching wilderness running experience with 5km and 10.8km courses following alongside the Yarra River and its natural bushland setting in Yarra Bend Park.
As soon as you commence the trail you'll be immersed in nature as you follow this remarkably scenic course beside the twists and turns of the mighty Yarra, over scenic foot bridges, through historic eucalypt bushland, past colonies of fruit bats and pockets of parkland you never knew existed. Both courses are fairly flat and devoid of any lung bursting hills, making for an ideal and accessible introduction to trail running. We're sure you'll love it!
The start / finish area at the Studley Park Boathouse feels like it's a world away from the urban environment just over the rise and is well equipped for a post-run coffee and cake at the tea rooms. Spectators and non runners can enjoy the facilities or take in a paddle on the river in one of their row boats while enjoying the wilderness around them.

The Salomon Trail Running Series is a 4 part series designed to present trail running for all that it can be: scenic, accessible, not overly technical and fun for everyone.
Many people think all trail running events are 50km+ and over mountain ranges and well they can be, but they can also be short, rewarding, close to home and enjoyable for everyone. That's what the Salomon Trail Running Series is all about.
