Stand Up Paddle Surfing - 40 Foot Waves

It takes a fearless and confident stand up paddle surfer to take on these monster 40 foot waves. In our books, anyone who goes out there in such conditions is pretty crazy!

Meet Laird Hamilton, a waterman who was spotted charging down the face of these massive waves in Hawaii this winter (our summer).

At 47 years, Hamilton still heads out in the crazy surf. Conquering these waves on a surfboard is one thing but on a SUP is a completely different story.

In winter, Hamilton can be found somewhere in the pacific, waiting for the massive swells to hit Teahupo'o or Pipeline.

His summer months are spend in Malibu, California - living the life with the movie stars in his house on the beach.

Laird is the ultimate waterman. He was definitely first in line when the chiselled surfer looks, body and huge gonads were handed out. What an absolute legend!

This just brought a smile to my face-I'm his age, and it demonstrates hope still lives for those whom are willing to risk all for a life well lived... Bravo.

Laird shocked everyone when he rode a paddle board at Teahupo and made it look easy. He just seems to have good judgement on big waves.

Additionally, this is artistic photography. Most of the surfing pictures are all the same with someone standing on a board and riding a wave. But this has colour a different shape board and we are told a very fit male on the right side of 50.
