The speeding skateboarder, Ryan Vitale, was racing downhill at 65 kilometres per hour when a deer darted out in front of him to cross the road. Although Ryan swerved to avoid the collision, he was unsuccessful and ended up somersaulting into a tree.
The incident took place during the Buffalo Bill Downhill race in Golden, Colorado. Both the deer and skateboarder are reported to be ok, despite the intensity of the wipeout.
"I was really glad to see both the deer and Ryan were okay," videographer Mike Paproski, who shot the footage, told GrindTV.
All we can say is "Oh Deer".

Id understand it being news if it was in australia and a roo bounced out. ...but who gives a damn about a yank hitting a deer on skateboard.
ReplyThat's boring. Luge gives way better crashes.
ReplyActually the skateboarder was traveling at 72KPH to be exact because it's from a US story and they said he was doing 45MPH = 72KPH. Geez get it right firstly and secondly why does Australia have such a big to do with speed? Speed never killed anyone, dumb drivers who can't drive kill people. Even on the motorway it's only 100KPH = 62MPH, no wonder it takes so long to get anywhere in this laid back country that's afraid of everything.
4 RepliesBut the deer wasn't using a skateboard , isn't that against the rules...?
