Look, No Streaks!

Nov 05 05:18pm

Forget the stained palms and I'm-faking-it aroma. Going golden gradually is the new way to self tan.

WH's action plan

1. Exfoliate
Tan adheres to dead skin cells, so minimise dark patches by keeping skin smooth. Exfoliate knees, elbows and ankles, as colour tends to build up in these areas. Rub with moisturiser or skimp on the tan over these areas for an even colour.

2. Stay dry
Make sure you dry yourself properly before bronzing up. Damp spots will leave pale patches as tan doesn't stick to water.

3. Massage
Rub lotion into skin in circular motions, starting at your ankles and working your way up. Remember to wash your hands once you're done.

4. Hang 5
Allow the lotion a few minutes to dry so you don't get marks from clothes on your tan (and to save your crisp white shirt from taking on a honey hue).
