As I'm waiting for the next show to begin, I can't help but wonder who has the lovely blonde locks sitting further up front. Wait... here comes the camera crew... It's Jennifer Hawkins.
Mad Cortes showcased an exuberant collection of floral printed dresses, classic trousers, cowl neck tops and frill detailing. Accessories adorned- skin toned belts cinched at the waist, and iridescent oversized baubles in the hair. The main highlight... all of it!
Therese Rawsthorne's collection featured drop waist dresses, high waist shorts with layers of tees, and loose shirts in cotton, linen and metallic fabrics. Brilliant abstract Waratah prints by Linda Jackson added a colourful kick to this urban rock chic. Loved!
Up next was Tina Kalivas, once again revealing her expertise of great tailoring, and couture techniques. Pastel pink, cream blouses and flirty micro short skirts and dresses were kept modern with abstract coloured paneling, and cord fringing. The models strutted the runway with exceptional confidence. Mmmm... I wonder if that was due to the shoes being supplied by Cosmopolitan Shoes...
Akira wrapped up 2008 Rosemount Fashion week. There was a lengthy wait, and the Cargo theatre was rammed, but this time for good reason. As the man next to me asked (with alcohol infused breath) "They're niiice dresses aren't they?" I could only agree more. Akira's obvious appreciation of art, flora and fashion showed. A variety of draped and floral bohemian dresses. The magnificent array of colour against the glossy red runway and dotted lights was jaw dropping!
My hits of the week, besides the fashion:
The unique seating arrangements at the Cargo Theatre.
Goodie bags
The bare-chested Santa Vittoria male drink waiters. Did I already mention that...:- )
The Redken hair salon
And Misses:
The long waits in queues.
People nicking the Dyptique candles at the Rosemount Wine bar. Wrong.
