Pete at the Imaging Technology Show

May 30 07:41am

This week Pete is at the annual Imaging Technology Show. Held in Brisbane this year, the expo is run by The Photo Marketing Association - the peak body for the photographic industry.

The photo and imaging products Pete showed are due for release by Christmas.

Pete showed three camera:

  • one is the thinnest digital
  • a camcorder that withstands rough handling
  • a camcorder with a "professional" furry microphone

Pete also showed off a photo printer that's installed in a bucket, for portability!

You've seen canvas prints on people's walls? Now there's a chair coming to house near you that has photos printed onto the fabric.

You might also choose a "lens pen" for cleaning a cameras lens, or even a TV screen.

Kodak's newest digital photo frame features a touch panel - definitely the interface of the future.

And lastly, a "gorilla" tripod, with legs to wrap around a pole, tree or even your leg will let you get stable shots wherever you are.

Kurt Fearnley: I was relief teaching in Blayney when I met Kurt as a young school boy. The first thing that struck me was his smile and contagious positive outlook at all times. I see nothing has changed with this outstanding Australian. Although I never saw him again, it is a testament to the power of his personality that I have not forgotten him more than 15 years later.
