Nutritionist Matt O'Neill says portion sizes need to be controlled but overall, eating smaller meals throughout the day, or ‘grazing’, is not effective.

save their biggest meal for dinner without realising you do not need the
kilojoules when you sleep. Breakfast should be seen as the most important meal
of the day. Snacks can work as good breakers as long as you work that into your
daily allowance.
