A British charity has reported that, Not On Our Watch, a non-profit organisation founded by actors including Pitt, Clooney, Don Cheadle and Matt Damon have themsleves donated half that sum to Save the Children and have pledged even more.
"Save the Children is very grateful for this donation, which will help us meet children's survival needs in Myanmar (Burma), and assist them in their recovery from this devastating event," said the charity's campaigns head Adrian Lovett.
While many charities struggle to get through to the military-run country, the British-based charity said it had already reached over 100,000 people in the first week.
"This money will help us continue to reach as many people as possible," said Lovett.

Do solariums kill? I used to work in a solarium a couple of years ago, we sold a 12 pack of solarium sessions 12mins for lie-down or 6 stand-up as it's stronger. 2 Japanese girls came in one day bought the pack each and some cream, and they stayed for 36 or 48 mins which is not recommended. they were black after 2 days.
