Mel's Meringues

30 minutes Makes 15
Ingredients
  • 4 x eggwhites
  • 1 x cup caster (superfine) sugar
  • 2 x teaspoons cornflour (cornstarch)
  • 1 x teaspoon white vinegar
  • food colouring
  • decorations
Method
  1. Preheat the oven to 150 degrees celsius. Place the egg whites in the bowl of an electric mixer and beat until soft peaks form. Gradually add the sugar, beating well until the mixture is glossy. Sift the cornstarch over the egg white mixture and fold through with the vinegar and add a few drops of food colouring.
  2. Line two baking trays with non-stick baking paper. Spoon a quarter of a cup of meringue mixture onto the trays. Sprinkle with decorations. Bake for 30 minutes. Turn off the oven and allow the meringue to cool in the oven.

I have tried many many times to make meringues but everytime they turn out soft and disguisting! Im am a visual person so seeing you make them really hepled me! so thanks im making them today!

Hi Mel I'm hopeless at cooking in the kitchen something always seems to go wrong but seeing you make those meringues, you made it look so easy so I decided to have a go they turned out brillantly and nothing went wrong.

Well , how dare Tommy tell Mel to get back into the kitchen, those days are gone and we oldies, fought jolly hard not to let bullies like him run our games thats why he is mouthing off and our football players are being such dumbo's, getting drunk,into drugs and not knowing how to treat a person,

Solar power: Even with the rebate, solar panels are still too expensive for most households. Given the urgency of the problem, we need poorer households to have panels also. Best solution: a sliding means test - 100% rebate to low income households to no rebate at the other end
