Hugh is promoting his new film "Deception" but his true priorities came out within the first minute, with Hugh preferring to talk about his wife's interests in adoption and his own children's aspirations - Hugh's son Oscar thinks acting is frivolous, (he'd prefer to be an archaeologist!)

The film is rated MA15+ and releases in cinemas this Thursday 24 April.

Hugh went on to describe how his heart has been torn for their co-star Michelle Williams as she moves on with life after Heath Ledger's death. For this reason, he has ensured she is not expected to leave her daughter to fulfill the movie's promotional commitments.
"My heart goes out to her for this incredibly hard time for her and Matilda," Hugh says.
"Movies are not the be all and end all. She has to focus on being a mum and it is too close and too raw. And everyone journalists she talks to ... I don't want her to be in that position."
Hugh's wife, Deborah-Lee Furness, has taken on the promotion of adoption as a personal mission.
"Yes, she felt there was an injustice there," explains Hugh, "[as] a way to help out kids who need help now and she found it frustrating that Australia had the second lowest rating of inter-country adoption."
"She has focused her attention on that. If there is one thing I can guarantee about my wife is that if she wants something to happen, it will happen - and she is always right!"
"I don't mind admitting it," Hugh laughs. "That is why we have been together for 13 years."
Deception is the first film his production company Seed has been involved with.
"Wolverine" is Seed's second project, and Hugh is currently filming the movie in Sydney.

Kurt Fearnley: I was relief teaching in Blayney when I met Kurt as a young school boy. The first thing that struck me was his smile and contagious positive outlook at all times. I see nothing has changed with this outstanding Australian. Although I never saw him again, it is a testament to the power of his personality that I have not forgotten him more than 15 years later.
