The Original Ghost Whisperer - tour dates 2010

Nov 08 07:00am
American medium James Van Praagh, one of the world's foremost mediums, is the creator and executive producer of TV's The Ghost Whisperer. His natural, easy-going style has him seemingly chatting with a friend on the telephone, rather than communicating messages from the grave. James relays physical traits and death conditions as proof.

James Van Praagh bridges the gap between the living and the dead, by proving life after death. "I'm clairsentient," he explains, "I feel the emotions and personalities of the deceased. I am also clairvoyant," he adds, "both feeling and seeing." The essences of the messages are the feelings behind the words.

James' popularity began when he became the resident expert on life after death on the talk show The Other Side. Los Angeles critic, Howard Rosenberg, dubbed him "spectacular". His message has touched many people through appearances on Oprah, Larry King Live, Dr. Phil, A&E Biography, Maury Povich, 20/20, The View and 48 Hours. He has created meditation programs and development videos, taught mediumship, conducted seminars and produced projects such as Beyond With James Van Praagh, aired in the US in 2002-2003 and still showing in Australia and South America.

James welcomes healthy scepticism. He says "A psychic senses energy around living people or objects, interfacing between the vibrations of the physical world and those of the spirit world." Though he does not foretell the future, he proves that people survive death. "We are all spirit beings, with more to our life than our life-span here".

He is a conduit of comfort, healing, and most importantly, love. His books include Talking To Heaven, Reaching To Heaven, Healing Grief, Heaven and Earth - Making the Psychic Connection, Looking Beyond: A Teen's Guide to the Spiritual World, and Meditations with James Van Praagh. Ghosts Among Us (Harper Collins) quickly reached the New York Times Bestseller list and #1 on Amazon.com Bestseller list in 2008. Unfinished Business, released in the US in May 2009, is following a similar path.

In 2002, with the CBS network, his mini-series Living With The Dead, starring Ted Danson and Mary Steenburgen, was CBS's highest rated show for two years. In 2004, his The Dead Will Tell starred Anne Heche. He is currently producing Ghost Whisperer, starring Jennifer Love Hewitt, which premiered in 2005 and has become CBS's #1 Friday night drama. It is seen in over 200 markets worldwide.

James Van Praagh travels the world teaching mediumship development, hosting spiritual cruises, and conducting seminars. His website encourages spiritual learning, grief support and friendships. "My greatest satisfaction is witnessing an instantaneous change in people," states James. "When someone is alone and overwhelmed by grief, life seems over. But, when I'm able to help make contact with a loved one, grief and loneliness disappear and closure can occur." And so..."When a bright smile overcomes tears, it becomes a smile that can light up the world!"

Kurt Fearnley: I was relief teaching in Blayney when I met Kurt as a young school boy. The first thing that struck me was his smile and contagious positive outlook at all times. I see nothing has changed with this outstanding Australian. Although I never saw him again, it is a testament to the power of his personality that I have not forgotten him more than 15 years later.
