- Bookings for IMPROVCAMP are now open and close Monday 6th July.

Casting Director Lisa Beach says, "I will be in Australia attending the final presentation at Improvcamp as the event's VIP. I am travelling the whole fourteen hours there and the twelve hours back, because I think that the program is amazing and a great way to discover talent! I wish that we had it in the US!"

"To think that Canadian teenagers have had it for 32 years -- now it's bypassing the US, and going all the way to Australia! But, I guess lucky for you guys, right?"

The Australian Institute for Performing Arts (AIPA) is a Sydney-based company dedicated to the promotion and development of the Australian performing arts industry through training, representation and performance.

IMPROVCAMP is a residential programme that has been running successfully in Canada for eight years. It has been introduced to Australia in 2009 due to overwhelming demand. It is open to high school students 12 - 18 years of age and runs from Sunday 19th - Friday 24th July in Sydney and Point Wolstoncroft.

Thats not fair why cant they come to Melbourne and run the camp here as well as Sydney? Don't we deserve the chance of a life-time? I got so excited when I heard that a famous casting director was coming to Australia and a large bucket full of disappointment was poured on top of me!Do i deserve this

Kurt Fearnley: I was relief teaching in Blayney when I met Kurt as a young school boy. The first thing that struck me was his smile and contagious positive outlook at all times. I see nothing has changed with this outstanding Australian. Although I never saw him again, it is a testament to the power of his personality that I have not forgotten him more than 15 years later.
