Juleye urging us to face our fears

Jul 02 07:35am

- Not many people fear losing their sight. But it happens more often than you would think.

  • Every 65 minutes an ordinary, everyday Australian loses part or all of their vision.
  • Eye disease is something that will affect all of us in our lifetime – if we live long enough.

Seventy five percent of visual impairment can be either prevented or treated. WIth that in mind, Australians are being asked to use their wit and imagination to fundraise for eye health during July for the What Would You Pay to See? campaign.

Other examples of how people can participate:

  • Give up chocolate for a week
  • Walk through the city dressed as a superhero
  • Conquer a fear of public speaking
  • The boss doing the coffee run?
  • A mayor doing the garbage run
