Michael Jackson's father chose to appear yesterday in Michael's place in a move many have criticised as crass and unnecessary. The Jackson's family lawyer was also present.
Appearing confused at the questions put to him by CNN's red-carpet reporter, Jackson started by saying that he felt "great" and that his family were "doing pretty good".
Mid way through the interview, following a chat with Jackson's lawyer, Jackson introduced his business partner who briefly mentioned the pair's business plans.

When asked about his son's legacy, Jackson said, "Now, they seem to realise it now. Only thing is I wish the world had of recognised him when he was living. Right now, right now he's bigger than ever, now. I wish he was here to see all this, to hear all this. Yes."
Jackson interrupted the CNN interviewer to say, "I want to make this statement, this is a real good statement here." Introducing his friend, 'Marshall', with whom he owned a record company, Jackson's friend explained the pair are now working on using high-definition Blu-Ray DVD technology. "That's his next step."

Kurt Fearnley: I was relief teaching in Blayney when I met Kurt as a young school boy. The first thing that struck me was his smile and contagious positive outlook at all times. I see nothing has changed with this outstanding Australian. Although I never saw him again, it is a testament to the power of his personality that I have not forgotten him more than 15 years later.
