Can bosses view your emails?

Jun 22 08:42am

- The Utegate affair gripping parliament has exposed the need for emails to be accessed at a later date.

There is conjecture over the rights and abilities of employers to read the emails of their staff.

And what of emails you send at Internet cafes or airport lounges, should they be viewable and traceable, even if you delet evidence?

Do you think bosses should be able to read your emails, even if they are on provate email accounts you access at work?

As long as the emails are being sent during the workers own personal time (ie lunch or after work) and is not inappropriate then it is ok. Life still goes on even if we have to work! I work in an environment where it is difficult to communicate via phone and email is the most convenient way.
