New Kids cancel Aussie tour! Oh no!

Jun 18 12:28pm
- Much to the distress of many of our viewers, the reunited 80s music group New Kids On The Block won't be Hangin' Tough in Australia any time soon.

Group member Donnie Wahlberg took time out from the group's American Tour to blog on how the GFC (Global Financial Crisi) has meant they can't afford to tour Australia.

Hey All-

In response to so many of the Aussie fans amazing efforts and thecollecting of signatures of thousands- our promoters, as well as ourmanagement team, worked incredibly hard to make an Australian tour areality….

Despite warnings that the financial problems plaguing the worldwould compromise the Australian tour- they never gave up on this dreamand neither did we.

However-

I’m sorry to say that now- it is true.

We are not going to Australia.

Like many of our fans down under- we too are saddened.

Australia has always, ALWAYS, been one of our favorite places to travel to.

And quite honestly- we tried very hard to make it work.

Kurt Fearnley: I was relief teaching in Blayney when I met Kurt as a young school boy. The first thing that struck me was his smile and contagious positive outlook at all times. I see nothing has changed with this outstanding Australian. Although I never saw him again, it is a testament to the power of his personality that I have not forgotten him more than 15 years later.
