Sunrise screens weekdays between 6am-9am

Oct 24 07:38pm
Sunrise is not like anything else on Australian television. And we're proud of that.

From humble beginnings in a tin shed, we've grown to be Australia's number one breakfast show - complete with our own window studio. That's surprised some so-called critics, who don't really know what to make of us. The truth is, we're just a bunch of normal people with normal interests and normal lives.

Our viewers set the Sunrise agenda, by getting their point straight to air by email, SMS, talkback calls or conventional mail.
Some of the issues they raise are written on a whiteboard - known as the ROSwall. That stands for Responses of Sunrisers Wall - and has absolutely nothing to do with a former politician called Ros who got into hot water over a whiteboard. Once an issue is on the ROSwall, it stays there until we get a satisfactory outcome.

In the era of breaking news, Sunrise uses a constant news and weather ticker to ensure you have access to the latest information. We were the first show in Australia to introduce a ticker.

We pride ourselves on our ability to tell news in a very Sunrise way. That means hearing directly from the people involved. We don't like spin and never allow political speak.

Sunrise also has the biggest team of regulars on Australian television, covering everything from music to movies to foreign affairs to medical issues.

Our mission is to deliver a balanced breakfast. News and views - combined with entertainment and humour. It's the perfect way to start your day.

Kurt Fearnley: I was relief teaching in Blayney when I met Kurt as a young school boy. The first thing that struck me was his smile and contagious positive outlook at all times. I see nothing has changed with this outstanding Australian. Although I never saw him again, it is a testament to the power of his personality that I have not forgotten him more than 15 years later.
