Best caravan parks in Australia

Feb 04 08:57am
Australian Traveller's Greg Barton came on SUNRISE to explain how far caravan parks have come.

How far have caravan parks come since the bad old days?
A good Caravan Park in the bad old days was once determined SOLELY by its location, and if you were lucky there might be a bbq or two, plus a dreadful communal shower block. Nowadays, services include powered-sites for motorhomes with adjoining ensuite bathrooms, resort-style swimming pools, some even have their own tiny golf courses, tour desks, games rooms -- Arkaroola in the Flinders even has its own observatory!

Blue Dolphin Yamba - Closing Down– riverside location and clean facilities but definitely not the best in NSW 1770 Camping Ground–nice location but it is basic you even have to share your water connection between two sites Arkaroola SA basic and a dustbowl!
Your researcher didnt do his homework.

it sounds as though you have done a lot of camping WLNSJLS - can you tell me what you think is the nicest caravan park in NSW - we have moved to Sydney in the past few years and have been looking for somewhere nice to holiday within the state.

The management of Blue Dolphin Holiday Resort would like to take this opportunity to advise that it is not closing its doors and will continue to remain open. Over the next few years, there are plans to invest and upgrade on the current facilities and accommodation on offer for families to come and

What makes some of these parks great is their location - we are so lucky in Australia to have access to affordable accommodation in stunning places - paradise on our doorstep! Check out www.welovethiscountry.com.au - they have information on top locations and you can find a holiday park.

I like to think that Adveture Whitesundays should have been up there for QLD if ant one has been there specially with children you would understand why, its a one stop caravan park, Once you arrive you dont need to leave, it has every thing to keep every one amused. and its clean

I'm the cuddly mascot of ASHMORE PALMS HOLIDAY VILLAGE on the Gold Coast. It's a shame your researcher missed us, as we won 3 Trip Advisor Traveller's Choice Awards this week and have won multiple Qld & Australian Tourism Awards! http://www.ashmorepalmsgoldcoast.co m.au/

I must add in support of Macca Macaw and the Ashmore Palms Holiday Village, fantastic place to stay, loved every minute, will be back again next year! And for WA I would have to say my favourite is the Middleton Beach Holiday Park in Albany, we have stayed there several times and it is excellent!

We recently spent 7 weeks travelling the east coast of Australia... and we found Ashmore Plams on the Gold Coast was by far the best tourist park. The facilities were fantastic, grounds absolutely beautiful and the free morning activites for the kids were priceless.
