It's not just Americans but also some Aussies who are getting very excited about Obama's inauguration.

Chris Ryan won Sydney University's US Studies Centre competition to attend the inauguration of Barack Obama in Washington.

The competition asked people to do their take of the US election as a video "mash up". Chris' video is called Political Junkie.

Chris is in Washington with his wife, Fiona. They married in September last year and are  treating the trip like a second honeymoon.

Aussie expat Jason Swain was commissioned by an anonymous donor to do a painting of Obama. The painting is 8 foot tall and painted at a school in Kensington, Maryland

A congressman came to the school and officially unveiled the painting. A mother at the school took a photo of the painting and gave it to Michelle Obama. She is Michelle's manicurist.
