Behind the Scenes

Watching the Obamas

Jan 07 12:20pm

- By Sunrise web producer Luke Buckle

Today's segment on Obama Chic (see link above) was chosen carefully because in the production office we realised the image issue was interesting but we don't want to be covering the Obama's every move.

Hey look! The girls went to school! Michelle had dinner with a friend! They went on holiday!

Online however, you can be sure every move will be analysed, blogged and photographed.

And online it's easier to share with you what the next President has been up to without letting the politics getting too tiresome.

Firstly, he is already in the swing of a weekly address despite saying that he can't make official statements of real significance- which is why he has been silent on the current middle east crisis.

So here is his latest weekly address. It shows he is still using his language of hope and change, plus he remains committed to using the internet to connect with modern Americans - c'mon Kevin07! This could be you!

President-elect Obama is also bringing change to the way his White House sidekicks are chosen.

The latest choice seems to have been made not only because he is popular but because he is on TV! Obama's selection for Surgeon General (like the nation's top Doctor) is currently a CNN medical correspondent! (read more here)

Hi name is Doctor Sanjay Gupta and here's a photo of him reporting like a star, waist deep in water. We're just guessing, but we think he's doing that to show that water levels are rising.

We look forward to the President's next choice - and to bringing you amusing photos of them.
