Nov 05 03:15pm

The music scene needs a shock to its system ... something from left field, pushing the boundaries, stretching the pop genre. Few of us thought its name would be Kate.

Kate Miller - Heidke performed her new single, “Make It Last” on Sunrise today.

It's the second single from the 22 year old Brisbane based singer-songwriter. The debut album is titled Little Eve is out now.

Kate was nominated for four ARIA Awards this year, including Best Female Artist, Breakthrough Artist – Single, Breakthrough Artist – Album, and Best Pop Release.

If you're looking for some of Kate's earlier work, you'll find two independent EPs called “Circular Breathing” (2006) and “Telegram” (2004).

We're sure Kate is destined for enormous popularity, with reviewers already comparing her to Kate Bush, Tori Amos and Joni Mitchell.

This classically trained singer has also been a lead opera vocalist and on the way to mainstream success, she played keyboard for Pete Murray.

You can see Kate live as she is on tour - the “Little Eve” tour - continuing through November and December.

Do solariums kill? I used to work in a solarium a couple of years ago, we sold a 12 pack of solarium sessions 12mins for lie-down or 6 stand-up as it's stronger. 2 Japanese girls came in one day bought the pack each and some cream, and they stayed for 36 or 48 mins which is not recommended. they were black after 2 days.
