Airbrushed models - yes or no?

Nov 20 07:49am

As the government moves to pressure publishers into informing readers when a photo has been touched-up, Sunrise is wondering if our viewers would actually prefer to see the practice banned altogether.

Tell us if you would prefer to see Australian magazines put an end to photoshopping models to make their bodies appear perfect ...

I prefer seeing real people in magazines. The size-0 ladies are affecting not only women, but also kids and teenies, to lose sooo much weight just so they can see themselves as pretty and sexy. They even go through eating disorders and depression. Skinny women are not pretty. Being real is! Smile!:D

now lets be realistic now not everyone can look like a model and having them in magazines that teens buy is going to get down on themselves but its not just them as well - males & females put each other down aswell. by say your ugly ur not a size 8-12 oh ur size 14-18 ur so fat. WAKE UP PEOPLE EVERY

im a 19 year old girl and im not a twig (im not fat but im not skinny) and im missing out because this photoshop is creating an illusion of a perfect female which is unachievable. I think if women are truley beautiful enough to be models makeup should be enough. I want to see real women in mags!

my 8 yr old is told at school she is fat, yet she is so skinny i cannot get jeans small enough to fit around her waist, but long enough for her legs. because her brother has anorexia, if she eats with him she eats like a bird. he is 18. we need to see real people in magazines and in ads

Isn't it bad enough that we are bombarded with supermodels and red carpet images without faking the look to an unrealistic impression to young girls and boys that perfection is prefered?
What audience are they appealing to because no one can relate to an artificial barbie doll.

I don`t mind either way, I think that when women put powder and other "camuflage" on-to themselves they are essentially doing with cosmetics what the photographers can do to photos on their computer.

Kurt Fearnley: I was relief teaching in Blayney when I met Kurt as a young school boy. The first thing that struck me was his smile and contagious positive outlook at all times. I see nothing has changed with this outstanding Australian. Although I never saw him again, it is a testament to the power of his personality that I have not forgotten him more than 15 years later.
