Airbrushed models - yes or no?

Nov 20 07:49am

As the government moves to pressure publishers into informing readers when a photo has been touched-up, Sunrise is wondering if our viewers would actually prefer to see the practice banned altogether.

Tell us if you would prefer to see Australian magazines put an end to photoshopping models to make their bodies appear perfect ...

I too have an 11 year old impressionable daughter. I have found an excellent AUSTRALIAN magazine called INDIGO. It is fabulous for tween girls - some of the kid models are a bit chubby, maybe a pimple - but still gorgeous. It teaches girls to be happy in their own skin!

I'm 14 years of age,
and body image is huge issue for myself.
i'm not over weight but i dread to ever be.
I dont have perfect skin, but when seeing magazines with photo shop in them, they make my friends and myself want to be like them.

We have a society with a huge proportion of unhealthy overweight people. And we wasting more time and money on trying to protect how they feel about what they see in magazines, rather than coming up with a way to help them get healthy.

we need to teach our kids to eat healthy an exercise, being over weight isnt some thing we should be saying is ok. a 10 to 12 for a teenager is a good size if there bigger then that then you should focus on there diet and activitys not whats in there magazines

We are all human with our flaws, no to air brushing, bring it on warts and all. Models are no different. These teenie magazines have a lot to answer for and should be accountable for their actions.

Get rid of the air brushes and let us have a reality check. None of us are perfect but we are all still beautiful and the youth of today need desperately to realise that. Fat, thin, tall, short we all have a place.

i understand that in the model world, looks are everything, but hairbushing should be banned,i would much pefer a sexy beautiful natural girl to look at,than some girl who doesn't look like she does in life.women are beautiful the way they are.bring on the natural look!!!
