Driving Holiday Tips from the soapbox

From Margaret, QLD:  Drive past Brisbane and come to Bundaberg to see the turtles laying eggs or hatching at Mon Repos. And Kochie will love you for the bottle of rum.

From Jan, QLD:  We recently went to Victoria Great Ocean Road from Queensland
Favourite places Echuca, Appollo Bay, Queenscliff and my husband rode his Royal Star Cruiser on Bathurst Track so that was his favourite I'm sure.
5086klms and only 3 u turns. Great trip but hard to take kids on a motorbike.

From Ellen, QLD: Vist Byfield, we have wonderful National parks to camp at or visit. 4wd tracks to explore, or stay in on of the 5 different lots of cabins here. We are 40 mintues north of Yeppoon, 1hr out of Rockhampton.

I know it takes a long and patient drive but in September we drove from Benalla in VIC to Coolum Beach in QLD. It may have taken four days but it was worth the drive! Fantastic landmarks along the way! :):)

Kurt Fearnley: I was relief teaching in Blayney when I met Kurt as a young school boy. The first thing that struck me was his smile and contagious positive outlook at all times. I see nothing has changed with this outstanding Australian. Although I never saw him again, it is a testament to the power of his personality that I have not forgotten him more than 15 years later.
