Madonna's coming! What's it worth to you?

Oct 28 07:56am

Molly Meldrum confirmed this morning that Madonna, following her recent divorce announcement, will be touring Australia as early as January 2009.

Madonna's last Australian tour was the successful Girlie Show in November 1993. Her live shows are often mentioned in concerts you must see before you die.

With negotiations taking place right now with two possible concert promoters, prices are yet to be confirmed. It is also not yet known if Madonna would bring the full stage and production to Australia.

Molly would like to know, what would Australians be prepared to pay to see Madonna live? Tell us below...

Spend, spend, spend. The way our $ is at the moment I wouldn't think much under $250 . Still she is the Queen and it would be an unforgettable event.

I have loved Madonna since I was 8, yep, 8! I was too young to see her last time, parents said no, wonder why?
Anyway I will pay up to $3000 for a ticket, I will be there, if not front row a close second, even if I have to eat 2 minute noodles for the rest of the year, I will see Madonna!

I wouldn't pay more than $100-150. I can't believe people would pay thousands, she's good but not THAT good, no one is. Obviously some people have more money than sense.

I saw her Wembley stadium show last month and was near front of catwalk, a gold circle/hot ticket package where we were let into the stadium first was about 280 pounds ($530 AUD at the time of purchase), I'd pay the same for a similar deal here, maybe more because it's so rare that she plays here...

I paid over $2000 (US dollars) in LA for Gold seats for her Confessions tour. There was one higher package for about $4k (US).
I've got the money to pay that but I no alot of other Aussie fans don't. My friends don't so I'd be going alone if tix are that expensive.

Kurt Fearnley: I was relief teaching in Blayney when I met Kurt as a young school boy. The first thing that struck me was his smile and contagious positive outlook at all times. I see nothing has changed with this outstanding Australian. Although I never saw him again, it is a testament to the power of his personality that I have not forgotten him more than 15 years later.
