I just bought one for my wife and she loves it :) I think Koshie needs to get with the times and try before he scoffs

I love this but will wait until the price comes down.

I write e-books but doubt that many of my customers would want this reader until it's cheaper.

I have one and I love it, the Dymocks website has 120,000 digital books to choose from, and heaps more content is available from other sources like mobipocket.com. Ebooks are so much cheaper than physical books and I can keep them forever without having to store them in boxes in the garage! Easy on the environment too.

I think the iliad has it's good points as far as ebooks go, but I'm disappointed that it has the limited battery life. When reading the iliad forums it seems to be much lower than they quote as well. The CyBook on the other hand, like most other eInk ebooks has a battery life based on 'Page Flips', not hours. Making it more like a book as you might need to recharge it only once a year.

It is however good to see someone being proactive with Ebooks in Australia

Cheaper books?
As an example "Seven Discourses on Art" by Joshua Reynolds
0.99c on Kindle, $10.99 in book form, $43.99 on Mobipocket...

Am I missing something here?

Too big and cumbersome, too expensive for what it offers. Why not just install E-Reader or Mobipocket on your Blackberry, Palm or ipod. greater convenience, always with you and is a lot cheaper considering that it is also a phone and PDA.

In addition to my comments above, Dymocks are greedy with their pricing of ebooks. Cheaper to buy offshore than to pay their inflated prices. There are zero overheads with downloadable ebooks. But this company is pricing Ebooks only a few dollars cheaper than the papoer back versions.

It is behaviour like this that loses australian custom and encourages piracy from P2P share sites. You only have to lookm at what happened in the music industry because of over pricing Wake up Dymocks and atone for your greed!

Kurt Fearnley: I was relief teaching in Blayney when I met Kurt as a young school boy. The first thing that struck me was his smile and contagious positive outlook at all times. I see nothing has changed with this outstanding Australian. Although I never saw him again, it is a testament to the power of his personality that I have not forgotten him more than 15 years later.
