no...make it a 21 yo drinking age limit, and heavier fines for underage drinking(which is were it ALLL starts) why not get rid of th (oh yr too young to be convicted..u poor little bugger) laws that teach our kids its ok too break th law then th pubs can go back to being pubs not day care centers

Education combined with restriction is the key. At uni balls I've known high % alcohol and cocktails or double shots to be restricted towards the end of the night. It stops the the drinker who is skulling and can no longer taste anything and also slows drinking down.

I'm an ambulance officer here in QLD and have worked in many places that are holiday destinations. It is my opinion that bars should close earlier, that those who serve, need to be held accountable and early education as to this legalised drug.

I think it's a good idea but even in places where pubs shut at 4am, quite often you find that there are then "after-parties" which can run well until after the sun is up. I have also visited other places where pubs shut at 12am & noticed that this just encourages ppl to drink more & at a faster pace

It is very simple, go back to 10pm closing of bar and 12am closing of premises with heavy fines for any licensee's serving alcohol after 10pm. Once a few premises lose their licence the industry will soon get into line and control the problem if they are going to lose their business or lose money.

This won't work, people will drink more is a shorter space of time, then at close time rather than people leaving at different times hundreds of people will spil out all over the streets. The wait for taxi's is already a few hours wait. What gonna happen when everyone need a taxi? fight!

yes venues selling alcohol should close earlier. but the problems of violence goes further to basic learning other options to anger and violence eg. road rage - no alcohol. behaviour management skills should be compulsory in all schools. responsiblity, respect and consequeces for actions eg.

I think they should ban the spirits and red bulls or likes ie. vodka red bull as in the past when you didnt drink those things you would get drunk and either pass out or go home but with the red bull you still have the energy to carry on even tho you are drunk.so that is when all the fights happen

I also use to live in a place where shots were banned altogether! Was an excellent concept. If someone wanted something straight that had to have it in a scotch glass with heaps and heaps of ice.

Kurt Fearnley: I was relief teaching in Blayney when I met Kurt as a young school boy. The first thing that struck me was his smile and contagious positive outlook at all times. I see nothing has changed with this outstanding Australian. Although I never saw him again, it is a testament to the power of his personality that I have not forgotten him more than 15 years later.
