What justifies more security cameras?

Oct 13 06:36am
There are already 47 cameras trained on people in Surfers Paradise.

Now, with all the revelry of the Indy race and Schoolies approaching, extra cameras are being installed, to look for possible criminal behaviour.

The cameras willl also scan high rise balconies and verandahs.

The Queensland premier, Anna Bligh, says police won't be worrying about the occasional topless flash.

There is never a good excuse to ramp up surveillance, especially as there is the risk that although the event comes and goes the surveillance remains.

Personally if you haven't anything to hide, it will help the Police in many ways, I don't have a problem with CCTV's the more the better, protect innocent people that may get robbed, bashed or sexually assaulted go CCTV.

It's always good to have more. Connex should follow this policy. I see many young kids cover the trian cameras with stickers, meanwhile they are reblliousness and graffiti all over the train because one side of the train isn't CCTV and if it is it isn't being watched by the driver or anyone!
