Could you forgive someone who harmed your children? What if they were a drunk and underage driver?
The odds were certainly against Marie Johnson giving the ultimate gift to the young man who nearly killed her two boys.
Yet, the mother whose life changed forever after the incident at Sutton Forest in New South Wales, has decided to let it go and to not hold anything against the the drink-driving 16-year-old, who was in a stolen car at the time.
As a result of their injuries, one boy now must now wear a pressure suit while the second boy run over may need metal rods in his arms.
Marie says she was able to let go of her anger, when the teen was sentenced to three months jail. In her opinion, she says they're not victims and the driver has been taught a lesson.
We asked our All-Stars if they would be so forgiving. Would you?
Destiny decides who you meet in your life, but it's our heart that decides who stays in our life. - Gale, TAS
Kurt Fearnley: I was relief teaching in Blayney when I met Kurt as a young school boy. The first thing that struck me was his smile and contagious positive outlook at all times. I see nothing has changed with this outstanding Australian. Although I never saw him again, it is a testament to the power of his personality that I have not forgotten him more than 15 years later.
