I have intervened twice once in a bashing and once on a bag snatch. With the bag snatch I almost lost my life with a knife held to my throat. I would do it again as I believe that these situations would be rare if the individuals knew that society would intervene. But we need the law to help

Why should we have to intervene? The police are out there for a reason. They can do their jobs and people can live their lives.

In regards to the comments made by Ita Buttrose and that other knucklehead about the Ambulance service losing rescue to the fire brigades, i have never heard a bigger load of mis-informed tripe in my life. I know it's a light and fluffy program, but get your facts right people !!!

The law is it's own worst enemy. If you intervene you are the one likely to be taken to court anyway. How about the police do their jobs and the legal system gets serious about punishing criminals properly.

I, for one, intervene.

My partner saved a kids life at our own home who was being bashed with bats etc, he was in just going to bed, heard some noise downstairs, went to see what was going on and got bashed himself. We have suffered financially since and the criminals run free. OUR LEGAL SYSTEM STINKS!!!

Our legal system should be on Joke of the day!!! LOL
