Court rules 10 year old to see her dying father

Sep 01 08:12am

The Family Court in Sydney has ruled a 10-year-old girl must see he dying father within 28 days. The girl has said publicly that she wants her father - who she hasn't seen since 2003 - to die. He is terminally ill with cancer.

In the case, the judge did comment on the mother, saying she has "an intense hatred" of the father.

An expert told the court that if the father dies without the child being able to say goodbye, the child will come to regret this later in life.

Psychologist Jo Lamble says this is a dangerous situation. The court wants reconciliation, but a meeting could cause more problems for the girl. Can a 10-year-old live with bad decisions she makes at this age? Jo says there could be an element of brainwashing by the mother, who has started a new family, but this is a common problem.

If the father wants reconciliation, Jo says he needs to make a huge effort. He should be writing letters so in the future, if the girl has regrets, she will still have those memories of him.

What do you think? Should the girl be forced to see her father?

Many thousands of Australian men will hope for a phone call from their beloved children this Father's Day. It won't come because of a successful Parental Alienation campaign by the estranged mother. The hurt is indescribable. I hope this tragic case highlights the issue.

This is a legalised form of child abuse and the courts do nothing. I have spent thousands and battled the 'System ' for three years and am still told, "If the girls do not want to see you, they do not have to". They have been so mentally raped by the estranged mother and the courts do NOTHING !

I urge every parent, who has been through, or is currently going through this situation,to write in and tell your story, somehow, somewhere, someone may just hear our voice and and help us to start something to assist in this insidiously disgraceful plight !!

Well, we are going through this too have been for 14 years but all csa cares about is legally not morally . The mother lied and has used the girls as weapons so now the 13 yr old hasnt spoken to him in 7 years and the older one 15 came to live with us but she done the same thing to us and took off .

she took off to a 3 rd party who now thanks to the great new csa laws can claim for cs... Now the girls want nothing to do with him, but pay your money.... how is this justified ... i have wrote letters to all news shows and MP's no one cares.... lets get the word out and help change this !!!

I'm sorry, i'm tired of ppl bad mouthing the courts. If you & your ex can't agree & stop pathetic squabbles using children as bargaining chips, then you deserve to have a 3rd party make the decsions for you. How about you grow up and act like adults, children can be more mature then some of you!!!
