Fifi Box joins Sunrise

Aug 05 07:19pm

- The Seven Network today announced the signing of Fifi Box. Fifi is one of Australia's best known broadcasters and comedians. Fifi will be a key member of Australia's most-watched breakfast television programme, now in its fifth consecutive year of leadership.

Fifi is perhaps best-known on television for her standout performance on Dancing with the Stars on Seven in 2007 and regular guest appearances on Sunrise and Thank God You're Here.

Announcing Fifi's signing, Adam Boland, Seven's Director, Morning TV and Strategic Initiatives, said: "To us, Fifi was the obvious choice. She's down to earth, never afraid to have fun and clearly not scared of early mornings. Most of all, she has a dynamite personality which we know Australians love. She's already a good mate to all of us Sunrise - so we can't wait for her to start."

Fifi said: "I am absolutely thrilled to be joining the Sunrise family. Television is an exciting new challenge for me, and the chance to work with Mel, Kochie, Nat and Beretts, who have been wonderful friends to me over the years, was an opportunity I could not resist."

"I'm over the moon, I'm still pinching myself!"

Fifi will only add more to a great show I think all the regulars and allstars are OK even without Fifi but she will only lift it more Brownie for those chose to go to news as he didn't like the early starts you see him on Seven news doing the weather

Yuck!! Unreal, you had a great guy "Brownie" that knew what he was talking about and then you get rid of him to wind up hiring something like this! WTH? Why?? I want to hear about the weather, not have a comedy show!

Kurt Fearnley: I was relief teaching in Blayney when I met Kurt as a young school boy. The first thing that struck me was his smile and contagious positive outlook at all times. I see nothing has changed with this outstanding Australian. Although I never saw him again, it is a testament to the power of his personality that I have not forgotten him more than 15 years later.
