Can food influence your mood?

- Nutritionist Susie Burrell believes some foods can change your moods.

People have long believed that chocolate made you feel better but if that is true, could certain foods also make you depressed?

According to Nutritionist Susie Burrell, the worst offender for running your mood is highly processed carbohydrate food.

Yet pick your diet right - milk drinks and fish, for instance - and you can eat your way to better well-being.

Why does my heart feel so bad?

An excess of sugar and high-GI carbohydrates causes a rapid rise in blood sugar levels, so the body reacts by releasing insulin and glucagons to control them. Blood sugar levels often drop far too low as a result, causing irritability and fatigue.

My son was an average full-of-life boy, very full of energy. I read a lot about the type of foods that affected behaviour. Onions calm hyperactive behaviour and brocolli is a happy vegetable. Cottees green coloured products made my son bang his head against walls and punch anything in sight.
