Have you ever won a competition?

Jun 30 09:23am

Today's story on winning competitions has brought all sorts of 'compers' out of the woodwork.

Our major prize winner, told us her tips on How to win big.

Hey, even our own Samantha Armytage won a t-shirt at a Blue Light Disco.

What prizes have won and do you have any tips for others trying their luck?

the first time i ever entered a competition was when i was about 10/11 years old. i had to guess the no.1 hit on the countdown of a radio station. I won a couple of CD singles and my most sought after album at the time - Craig David lol.

clnflowers, I think you've missed the poster's point. THE original Australian Comping Club is what it said, meaning; not just another Australian comping club. Fact. :)

Hi, I would be the most unluckiest person that has never won a thing in my life, but never mind, I'll keep trying.

I've just come back from a week in Canada that I won from That's Life.
Most of my CDs and DVDs are prizes, so are my players and I bought my TV with a cash prize.
Persistence pays off, I don't belong to any competition clubs - I just enter all the competitions I can

Tip really is -you gotta be in it to win it! If it's not costly then why not try it? I enter word puzzle comps That's Life,Take 5,New Idea-my last prize was from New Idea of $100 & paid a bill with it.

I bought a ticket in a raffle once, with about ten prizes on offer and I would have been happy with any one of them, except for the holiday for which I had absolutely no need and as a student I wouldn't have found time to take it anyway.

So, of course, I win the holiday.

Kurt Fearnley: I was relief teaching in Blayney when I met Kurt as a young school boy. The first thing that struck me was his smile and contagious positive outlook at all times. I see nothing has changed with this outstanding Australian. Although I never saw him again, it is a testament to the power of his personality that I have not forgotten him more than 15 years later.
