Coffee champ rates our cities

Scottie Callaghan has traveled the world competing as an expert barista and Latte artist.

Scottie says Australia is one of the top four countries including Italy new Zealand and the Scandanavian region of Norway and Denmark.

In preparation for his second appearance on Sunrise, we asked him to pause pulling espresso shots for a minute to give us his top five Australian coffee capitals and cafes he likes there.

Scottie rates our coffee capitals and names cafes he likes in each:

1. Sydney - Mecca (King St)

2. Adelaide - Cibo espresso (Rundle St)

3. Melbourne - St Ali (Yarra Place)

4. Perth - (anywhere serving Five Senses coffee)

5. Darwin - can't remember but look for a specialty bean!

if Scott is still there would you be able to ask him about the machine he was using. i have the same machine ECM Giotto, but was looking @ replacing it with the expobar brewtus! my Giotto is great but was knocked off! i have the chance to replace it with any machine. your thoughts? cheers Ryan

Kurt Fearnley: I was relief teaching in Blayney when I met Kurt as a young school boy. The first thing that struck me was his smile and contagious positive outlook at all times. I see nothing has changed with this outstanding Australian. Although I never saw him again, it is a testament to the power of his personality that I have not forgotten him more than 15 years later.
