Question

Whenever we have visitors our dog Jessie gets over-excited and barks, jumps up at them (even though she never jumps up at us) and just doesn’t leave them alone. Is there any way we can get Jessie to settle down rather than scold her and make her go to bed?

Most dogs will react when visitors drop in as they believe it is their job to alert their owners to new arrivals. To discourage this gregarious behaviour, try restraining your dog on a lead when visitors are around, encourage her to sit, and reward her when she settles.

I love animals! Especially dogs! I have a cute dog named Sophia (Sophie) who is a bichon frise. She has a disease called epilepsy (i think that's how you spell it) and has seizures :( Bye

Is a dog at 18months, set in its skittish ways, too old to train?
