Answer
provided by Dr Carl Milford BVSc

Dear Richard
A purulent discharge from the eyes can be as simple as conjunctivitis and may be treated by bathing the eyes in warm salty water. However a careful assessment by a veterinarian is strongly advised as there is a host of reasons for this kind of ocular discharge and the correct cause needs to be determined to attain proper treatment.
