You
Do you feel like crying? Does your temper flare at the drop of a hat? Welcome to pregnancy. Your hormone surge may also create havoc with your mood. Hormones may make you cry easily, for no reason at all, or everything may irritate you. Once your hormone level evens out, your body will become accustomed to the surge in hormones and your emotions will be easier to control. Luckily this isn't a permanent condition.
You may both be worrying about continuing with your usual sex life. Unless you have a history of miscarriage or are experiencing vaginal bleeding, go ahead and enjoy the time you have together. You have formed a mucus plug to cover your cervix; this protects and seals off your uterus completely. This plug will remain in place until near the end of your pregnancy when you may have what is known as "a show". It's safe to tell family and friends the good news. Once a pregnancy has been confirmed it has more than an 85 percent chance of being maintained.
Your Baby
Baby is in a rapid development phase right now, he is 5.4cm long from crown to rump and weighs 14 grams. All of his organs, bones, and systems are in high development mode. The framework is being set up, and the tissues, muscle and fat will come later. One organ that is already complete is his pancreas. Your baby's pancreas is already formed enough where it is producing insulin for his body. The pancreas will continue to grow and produce a larger amount of insulin as your baby grows.
