Exclusive: Kate Ritchie's Tearful Breakdown

Kate Ritchie has been on an emotional rollercoaster ride - and saying a tearful farewell to Home and Away is only the tip of the ice-berg.

In a candid chat with New Idea this week, Kate talks about her new job, having her break up with Chris Walker made public, and what it felt like to learn about Heath Ledger's death while live on radio (Heath once starred as Kate's love interest on Home and Away). But with a new career change, and a new partner in pro-skateboarder Corbin Harris, Kate sure looks set for a stellar 2008

Our entire family will miss you. Although we do wish you the very best in your career, we are hoping that you will occasionally return to the series as a visitor to "Summer Bay" from time to time. Go for it Girl, we love you heaps.
