keith urban was born in new zealand and moved to australia later. what about alex o'loughlin from moonlight? hes one hot aussie. and mel gibson too.

Keith Urban is not American, he was born in Queensland, Australia and grew up here, only moved to America as an adult. Nicole is Australian. Her parents are Australian but happened to be in Hawaii when Nicole was born but she grew up in Australia.

Russell Crowe was born in NZ but moved here at the age of 3. He has lived his whole life in Australia and this is where he was married, had his children. He has an Australian accent. Mel Gibson's father is American and moved his family to Oz when Mel was 11.

Mel Gibson lived in Oz from the age of 11 onwards. After appearing first in Australian film and tv, Mel pursued his acting career in America. I'm sure he counts himself as both American and Australian. His siblings still live in Oz.

Keith Urban was unknown in Australia until he married Nicole, even though he was a star in the US. His music is seldom played on the airwaves here.
