The New Idea Breast Cancer Fund was established in 1998 to provide funding for research and community assistance programs for women and their families affected by breast cancer.

UNIFEM

UNIFEM is the women's fund at the United Nations. It provides financial and technical assistance to innovative programmes and strategies to foster women's empowerment and gender equality.

Look Good Feel Better

An initaitive of the Cosmetics Industry Association. Many volunteers run hundreds of workshops at hospitals around Australia for women affected by cancer, giving help and advice on how to look good and feel better! New Idea is proud to support this impressive initiative.

I lent a firend my new idea and did not get it back. I am interested in finding out more about a tory I read - it was about women over 50 volunteering abroad. It soudned such a wonderful opporunity. Will more be sponsored to do this or was it a one off?

Hi i am a 36 year old mum of 3 girls. Tess 8 Demi 3 polly 1. I am also a 3 years breast cancer survivor. Just last Friday hopefully had my last op to beat this disease. I was first diagnosed with Breast Cancer at 33, I had just stopped breast feeding my fourth child. I then had a second primary in the other breast 2 years later. Then eleven years to the day I was diagnosed with my third breast tumour in the same place as the first. I have since had a bilateral mastectomy and had chemo with all three bouts and radiotherapy with the first two. Last year I was diagnosed with a SCC ( skin cancer) of the vulva. My Sister and Brother In-Law have started a weekly FREE tea and coffee stop for truckies on the south australia/victoria border just out on bordertown on the Dukes hwy - How can i get them some more media exposure of their GREAT community spirit last week they had between 50 and 60 truckies through between the hours of 3pm and midnight
