The Beckhams take on the USA

The Beckhams have touched down in Los Angeles amid a media frenzy.

Victoria Beckham was stunned at the number of well-wishers and paparazzi there. She was quoted as saying,"It was incredible... We know that people kind of have an idea who we are here in America... but we weren't expecting anything like that.

"Everyone was so kind and saying, 'Welcome to America...' It was a fantastic welcoming. It was really, really great."

The superstar couple made their way to their new home, a Moroccan-style mansion in Beverly Hills.

Shortly after, 5000 Los Angeles Galaxy fans welcome David Beckham to the team.

Beckham-mania takes hold in the US

Meanwhile, Victoria Beckham claims she never discusses Scientology with good friends, and now neighbours, Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes.

She told a US TV show: "There's been so much made of Scientology. It never comes up. They do their thing. We do our thing. They are a wonderful family. Tom and Katie are genuinely lovely people."

Victoria says Katie has been particularly helpful with her family's move Stateside since David signed to Los Angeles Galaxy.

The singer - who has three sons, Brooklyn, eight, Romeo, four, and two-year-old Cruz, with David - said: "She's a very strong, sweet, lovely girl. Katie's helped me so much with the move. She's genuinely a nice girl."

Despite moving to Los Angeles, the home of Hollywood, Victoria says she has no ambition to break into movies.

She said: "I must be the only person in Los Angeles that doesn't want to be in films."

Talking about her own acting experience, in which she played herself in the Spice Girls movie 'Spice World', Victoria joked: "Have you seen 'Spice World'? I don't think I'm that good at acting!"

Finally, it's Beckhams day in L.A.

Good on Victoria and David on the move to L.A, I think there so much bad publicity about posh but it is all rubbish.. She is very trendy and loves her husband and boys. The people that bag her just want to be her and have her life...

Really! David has achieved a lot with his sport and he deserves all the publicity. Please, no more Posh stories unless she does something extraordinary. She is a great mom and good wife (she forgave him, didn't she) but lets concentrate more on people who actually do something with their lives, not just change clothes.

Did you really miss it? it was as big as a truck! It looked like an expression of concern for people in poverty and the sadness of the moronic obsession with greedy celebrities, not the absence of satisfaction with their own life.

If you're not jealous then why are you reading this story and caring enough about it to write it instead of DOING something to help all those in poverty? If you look at some of the poorest and most needy countries in the world, i.e. Iraq, you will notice they idolize David Beckham; they love football; stars like him provide escapism and distract them from the miserable goings on around them.

You don't see them getting angry about him - more likely, they'd be angry at people like you who are wasting the privilidged life you've been given being negative. Victoria and David seem to be lovely, genuine, down-to-earth people. Yes, Victoria Beckham loves fame more than she earns it, and if you disagree with that then why are you reading this news story? Buying into her press, only makes her more famous so find something better to do with your time than post hateful comments on the internet

i believe she well earned her fame she may be married to David but i think she was the brains behind making them a powerful couple in the entertainment world
