It is alleged that the suspect, Marcia Valentine, was lying on their driveway and refusing to move. When Jesse James asked her to leave she got into her Mercedes and tried to run him over three to four times. James, 38, was not struck by the car.

Sandra Bullock, 42 and James's 10-year-old son, Jesse Jr., witnessed the attack.

After the attack Valentine fled the scene. By the time authorities arrived, Valentine was nowhere to be found. However, Orange County Sheriffs located the woman the next morning and took her into custody.

It is reported that Valentine had stalked Bullock in the past.
